OLAJIDE AYINLA, (Ph.D), Ffs.
 
Dr Olajide Ayinla is a retired Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research, Lagos (2007 2012).  He earned a B.Sc (Hons.), University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University 1972, M.Sc (Fisheries) University of Washington, Seattle Washington, USA (1979) and a Ph.D (Fisheries) from the University of Ibadan.
 
He initiated and led the team for the procurement of Deep Sea Fishing and Oceanographic Research Vessel, R.V. Bayagbona (2008 - 2012). Read more
 
He was appointed a Guest Professor by the Second Institute of Oceanography Hangzhou China Jan 2011 on the Platform of the Collaboration between the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research, Lagos, Nigeria and the Second Institute of Oceanography, China.
 
He was an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Marine Sciences, University of Lagos (1996 – 2000).
He was a member of delegates that represented Nigeria at the United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea (2008 – 2012).
 
He was the Secretary of the Board of Governors of the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography (2008 - 2011)
 
He is presently the National President of the Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON 2014 to date).
 
He is an Administrator of Fisheries and Aquaculture Governance in Nigeria.
 
He has introduced Innovations in the administration of the Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON) for the purpose of strengthening and repositioning of Fisheries and Aquaculture Industry in Nigeria.
 
He was the Centre Manager/Chief Research Officer of the African Regional Aquaculture Centre, Aluu, Port Harcourt, (1987 – 1999) (an FAO assisted project).
 
He reviewed the curriculum of the African Regional Aquaculture Centre for the Award of Master of Technology (Aquaculture) for the approval of Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt (1988).
 
He supervised Students for the award of Master of Technology of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.
